Once again I was privileged to work alongside other skilled craftsmen and stonemasons on the Roundbarrow at Higher Ground Meadow.
I was involved with the building of the many stone niches which will contain urns of cremated remains. We also built the Time Circle and the main central chamber roof, using a technique called corbelling. This gives a very eye catching domed and circular archway. Purbeck stone was used throughout.
2020 sees the opening of this stunning construction, where it will offer people an alternative place of rest for their loved ones in beautiful surroundings.
